TextConverter 2.2 dramatically simplifies the process of data
extraction/conversion from computer generated documents by offering a unique
capability of accomplishing the most difficult and time consuming part of
the task - identifying the internal document’s structure automatically
without programming.
The goal is achieved by employing an artificial intelligence (AI) engine that is
capable of recognizing reoccurring patterns of data layout, formatting,
and content thus identifying records and fields to be extracted. The tool also
provides full support for conventional script-based data parsing and data
transformation processing.
TextConverter 2.2 is also a programmable automation component equipped with
application programming interfaces (API). It can be integrated into your
applications using virtually any programming environment (including scripting
engines).
The most effective way of resolving your data extraction task
is by using TextConverter 2.2 in combination with our
data extraction service, which you can use
to submit your task to us and
to receive the completed project files ready to be incorporated into your
automated environment. The response will be sent to you within 24 hours (usually
within a few hours).

The market offers a variety of text import/conversion tools, which can be generally divided into two groups: dialog-based and programming tools. The dialog-based tools do not require programming skills, but have complicated user interfaces with limited functional flexibility. The programming tools, on the other hand, have virtually unlimited flexibility, but require expensive programming expertise and are time-consuming.
TextConverter offers the best of both worlds: a dialog-based interface, automatic pattern detection, and high-level scripting capabilities.

Conversion Process
Step 1. Extract - Automatic extraction uses AI pattern recognition. Manual extraction allows the use of any criteria the user wishes to define through options or script.
Step 2. Transform - a data map automatically connects each input field to each output field. The automatic mapping can be modified by visually connecting and disconnecting input and output fields or through scripting. Scripting can be used for extraction tasks, implementation of business rules, and other logic.
TextConverter leverages the VB Script engine to keep things simple. Powerful and precise conversion of text to useful data is accomplished through use of high-level objects such as the input dictionary, output dictionary, and proprietary utility objects for virtually any transformation task.
Step 3. Load -
at run time the data flows from the source, through the transformation process and into the output data table, which can be any database system (SQL Server, ORACLE, MySQL, DB2, MS Access, etc.) as well as in a variety of flat formats including CSV, Excel, FoxPro, DBase, and more.
User Interface and Workflow Steps

- Open the text file you would
like to convert by clicking on the
Open Data Source button. (or drag and drop the input file to the input pane.)
- Change options like "First Page", "Exclude Lists", and "Trim Spaces" on the
Options pane. The
Input Dictionary and the
Output Dictionary will be created automatically and linked field by field. If applicable...
- Make changes to the
Output Dictionary by editing the dictionary items, loading the Dictionary Object, or importing from other table(s).
-
- Set up script conversion by selecting
Create Script Conversion for any field and writing VB Script.
- Preview results in the
Output Table Sample. Use the
Options pane to adjust settings and see the results immediately on
the sample grid.
- Set up the
Output Table Name by clicking on the appropriate
button on the Output pane.
- Run the conversion process by clicking on the
Start Process button.
- View the final result in the output table viewer by clicking on the
Preview Output Table button.
