Concerto Competition

 

Corsi Musicali Internationali Estivi, Festival Musica in Laguna in Chioggia (VE) Italy, will include an opportunity for the participants in the piano programs to compete at the Citt di Chioggia Concerto and Solo Competitions.

 

SENIOR DIVISION CONCERTO Competition (over 16)

 

Only those students, who perform at least 2 movements from the required concerto repertoire, are eligible to participate in the Senior Division Concerto Competition.  Each student must also individually meet with the conductor and perform his/her concerto in order to qualify as competition participant.

 

Qualifying Round:  (open to the public) will take place during the festival, Date T.B.A., at 9:15 PM at the St. Nicolo Auditorium in Chioggia.  Each participant will perform a ten minute-long solo program of his/her own free choice.  Piano Faculty Members and one orchestra representative (Conductor) from the Summer International Music Festival will serve as jury members and will decide which students will be accepted to perform at the Winner s Gala.  Those who pass the qualifying round are automatically winners, and their prize is a performance with orchestra.  The jury reserves the right to either disqualify or penalize each participant that does not respect the required timing.

 

Winners gala:  Those winners, who passed the qualifying round with the highest number of votes from the jury, will be allowed to choose which movement he/she will perform with orchestra.  All winners will appear in concert and will be accompanied by Orchestra Sinfonica del Festival di Chioggia, under the direction of Maestro Pietro Perini on Date T.B.A. at 9:15 PM at St. Nicolo Auditorium.

Ludwig van Beethoven:

Piano Concerto No. 3  in C Minor, Op. 37

Johannes brahms:

Piano Concerto No. 1 in D Minor, Op. 15

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart:

Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major, K. 467

 

JUNIOR DIVISION CONCERTO COMPETITION

 

Group A up to 12 years old

Group B 12 16 years old.

 

Only those students, who perform 1 movement from the required concerto repertoire, are eligible to participate in the Junior Division Concerto Competition.   It is allowed to perform more then one movement.  Each student must also individually meet with the conductor and perform his/her concerto in order to qualify as competition participant.
